Boozy Strawberry Shake Ingredients

Here are the ingredients that make up this delicious homemade strawberry milkshake. For the full recipe including all measurements, see the recipe card at the bottom of the post.

  • Cake-flavored vodka: Makes this a boozy shake and adds some sweet cake flavor.
  • Vanilla ice cream: Gives the cocktail its frozen milkshake consistency and creamy sweet flavor. For an extra strawberry punch, you could also use strawberry ice cream.
  • Milk: Thins the mixture out just enough to blend up.
  • Frozen strawberries: Adds strawberry flavor and acts as ice without diluting the drink. If you use fresh strawberries, you may need to add a few ice cubes. A few fresh strawberries make the perfect garnish.
  • Angel food cake: Small chunks of the fluffy cake perfectly complement the tartness of the strawberries.

How to Make a Boozy Strawberry Milkshake

This boozy milkshake comes together right in your blender. For the full recipe, see the recipe card at the bottom of the post.

  • Combine ingredients. Add ice cream, milk, vodka, and strawberries in a blender.
  • Blend until smooth. Add your diced angel food cake, and pulse to the consistency you like. Add more milk if it seems too thick.
  • Put it together and serve. Pour the mixture into milkshake glasses and top with fresh strawberries, more chunks of cake, and whipped cream. Add a straw (or two) and enjoy!

Make it Non-Alcoholic!

To make this delicious milkshake kid-friendly, simply leave out the vodka and replace it with more milk.

Can you make this strawberry milkshake without ice cream?

Of course! Just add a couple of cups of crushed ice in place of the ice cream. Blend and be amazed at how creamy it looks and tastes.

Can I use fresh strawberries?

Yes! You may have to add a few ice cubes if doesn’t seem thick or frozen enough.
