Something about a blue cocktail makes the occasion extra festive, and this Blue Mule cocktail recipe is no exception! The tangy addition of blue curacao adds a citrus twist and blue hue to the already delicious Moscow mule. These blue mules are perfect for any party or gathering.

Blue Curacao is an orange liqueur that gives the Blue Mule its blue color and splash of citrus flavor. Fresh blueberries, mint leaves, and a lime wedge make this cocktail balanced and not too sweet, while adding some texture and a pop of color that are easy on the eyes!

Blue Mule Recipe

To make a Blue Mule you will need two ounces of your favorite vodka, an ounce each of lime juice, simple syrup (this homemade version is the best), and blue curacao, and about 3 ounces of ginger beer or enough to fill the glass. Some fresh mint leaves, blueberries (fresh or frozen), and lime wedges make the perfect garnish. Using frozen blueberries will help keep your cocktail nice and cold.

How to Serve

Mules are very often served in copper mugs. Though the mule certainly doesn’t have to be in a copper mug, the reason it continues to be served that way is that the copper keeps the drink nice and cold, and it certainly tastes best ice cold. It has also become the signature way to enjoy all variations of the popular drink! They are best enjoyed cold, so serve immediately with lots of ice. Use fresh or frozen blueberries, mint leaves, and a lime wedge for garnish.
