This Cherry Moscow Mule Recipe is such a delicious fun twist on the classic. Â Made with easy to find ingredients, this will be your new favorite variation!
Moscow Mules are such a hot drink right now – showing up at every party and wedding. And there’s a great reason, they are totally delicious! They come together with just a few ingredients, which makes it really easy to make lots of great spin offs that are just as great as the original Moscow Mule recipe!
Moscow Mule Ingredients
A Moscow Mule is the combination of just a few ingredients!
- vodka (our favorite Moscow Mules use Titos)
- ginger beer
- lime juice
Ginger Beer For Moscow Mules
Generally, you do use an alcoholic beer in a Moscow Mule. People will argue about what is the best ginger beer for a Moscow mule, but there are several that we like that work well. Crabbies is delicious and is generally easy to find, though we have a local loyalty to Sprecher Hard Ginger Beer, which is pictured here.
If you find that alcoholic ginger beer makes it too strong for you, or if you like your drinks a little sweeter, you might want to try replacing it with ginger ale. It is delicious, easy to find, and makes for a slightly less strong cocktail.
Serving in Copper Mugs
You may be wondering why Moscow Mules are served in copper mugs. The best reason that we could find was temperature! Not only does the copper metal keep the drink nice and cool, but the coolness of the drink makes the mug itself cold, making your lips nice and cold as you take sips.
Plus they are pretty cool.
While it isn’t a requirement to serve your Cherry Moscow Mule in a copper mug, we definitely prefer ours that way. Â You can find the pictured mugs below.

I LOVE mules, but the ginger beer is so heavy in calories! Has anyone ever seen a low cal or diet version?
