This sangria takes a little bit of patience but it is definitely worth the wait.  It is a great drink for a holiday party because the deep rich taste of the red wine, the brandy and the aroma and taste of the cinnamon are like a grown up Christmas dream come true.  It is a great and festive holiday cocktail.  This cocktail would be great with dinner but would be perfect for sipping as dessert afterwards.

HOW DO YOU MAKE CINNAMON SANGRIA?

Pour the brandy in a mason jar or sealable container and add the cinnamon stick.  Shake it a little and then let it rest for 12 hours, shaking once during the soaking time.  Combine it with red wine and serve at room temperature.

WHAT IS THE BEST RED WINE FOR SANGRIA?

These types of sangrias don’t require an expensive or fancy wine.  You can use a less expensive red blend.  Or you can go with something like a Pinot Noir or a Cabernet.

WHAT DO YOU PUT IN SANGRIA?

Most sangrias have fruit in them and some type of alcohol, traditionally a brandy, and then fruit that is soaked.  This is a different spin on sangria and doesn’t have fruit in it.

This sangria recipe would be perfect for a holiday!  It is rich, smooth, delicious, and with the hint of cinnamon.  Your party guests will love this and beg for the recipe.

It would look beautiful served in this decanter and in these glasses.
