There are many variations on the popular Rum Runner, including the addition of coconut rum and a variety of fruit juices, but we’ve found this one to be our favorite. We love how making tropical drinks at home can make any day feel like a vacation!

Why is it called a Rum Runner

The rum forward cocktail is said to have been created as a way to use a surplus of rum before new inventory arrived and is named after the actual “Rum Runners” who inhabited the Florida Keys. Similar to bootleggers during the prohibition, they smuggled alcohol.
