The story goes that Korbel debuted their brandy at a fair in Chicago in 1893, which many Wisconsonites attended. Many of them were of German heritage and preferred brandy over whiskey. The twist on the classic cocktail was born along with a few other unique quirks, and the rest is history. Make one at home or order one in a bar to feel like a true Wisconsonite!

Sweet or Sour

While the first few steps of the recipe are always the same, you do have your choice to make your Wisconsin Brandy Old Fashioned sweet or sour. To make it sweet, top your drink with lemon-lime soda such as 7Up or Sprite. To make it sour, you would top your drink with a grapefruit soda like Squirt.
