The Colorado Bulldog is similar to a White Russian but adds cola for a sweet addition. A creamy and sweet coffee-flavored mixed drink that is so smooth to drink, it’s hard not to love this one! One of the most popular Kahula drinks, the Colorado Bulldog is equal parts coffee liqueur (Kahlua), heavy cream, cola, along with a kick of vodka.

Topping the cocktail with a splash of cola is what distinguishes the Colorado Bulldog from a White Russian. It adds a bubbly and sweet twist that compliments the creamy coffee mixture. The history of the cocktail is pretty vague, but we know the popular drink is here to stay!

Colorado Bulldog Recipe

To make one Colorado Bulldog at home, you need 2 ounces of good quality vodka, an ounce of coffee liqueur like Kahlua. The recipe calls a splash (about an ounce) of heavy cream. If you don’t have heavy cream, you could also use half and half or milk. The thicker options are more popular because they make the drink creamier. Milk is a staple in most kitchens and something most people will have on hand compared to heavy cream but may make the drink thinner. Use almond, oat, or soy milk for a dairy-free option. The cocktail is topped with a splash of cola, add more to fit your taste if you prefer a sweeter drink.
