This White Russian recipe is the perfect ratio of the trio of ingredients, and one of the most popular Kahlua drinks! By combining vodka and coffee liqueur, a Black Russian is made. Adding a splash of cream or half and half creates the second cocktail, a White Russian. It doesn’t get much easier. Or yummier!

White Russian Ingredients

One of the best parts of a White Russian drink is how easily it comes together with a simple trio of ingredients. Be sure to scroll to the recipe card at the bottom of the post for the full recipe including all measurements.

  • Good quality vodka
  • Coffee Liquor: Kahlua is our go to coffee liqueur.
  • Heavy cream: If you don’t have heavy cream, you could also use half and half or milk. The thicker options are more popular because they make the drink creamier. Milk is a staple in most kitchens and something most people will have on hand compared to heavy cream but may make the drink thinner. Use almond, oat or soy milk for a dairy-free option.
