Hello, smooth blended goodness. Similar to the combination of a strawberry daquiri with a pina colada, the fresh flavor of the strawberries and smooth flavor of coconut make this Strawberry Colada recipe one you and your guests will love. Your blender will do all the work with this spiked refreshing treat!

Strawberry Colada Ingredients

This recipe requires your blender and the following ingredients. Be sure to see the recipe card at the bottom of the post for the full recipe and all measurements.

  • Rum: Use a light or white rum.
  • Frozen Strawberries: While a pina colada is made with pineapple, we swap that for strawberries in this refreshing variation! Using frozen strawberries makes the drink frosty without the need for extra ice in the blender.
  • Cream of Coconut: Provides a rich, creamy texture and sweet, tropical coconut flavor. Read more on this ingredient below!

How To Make a Strawberry Pina Colada Colada

Here is how this refreshing cocktail comes together. Be sure to scroll to the recipe card at the bottom of the post for the full recipe including all ingredients and their measurements.

  • Combine all ingredients.
  • Blend until smooth.
  • Pour into glasses and enjoy!

Cream of Coconut

Cream of coconut is a sweetened coconut cream, thicker and richer than coconut milk, often used in tropical cocktails like piña coladas. It’s made by blending coconut milk with sugar, resulting in a creamy, sweet product that is perfect for cocktails. It balances the tartness of the strawberries, creating a smooth and indulgent cocktail.

Shake or stir the cream of coconut well before using, as it tends to separate. Brands like Coco López or Coco Real are usually easy to find and reliable choices for making cocktails.

no ice in the recipe ?

    • Nathan Longley says

Nope, just the frozen strawberries! No ice required.

  2. Louise says

    One awesome Drink.

  3. Annie says

How would I make this non -alcoholic?

    • Nathan Longley says

You could probably just leave out the rum, but it won’t taste the same. There are some alcohol free rum alternatives out there, but we have never tried them. Good luck!

  4. Kim says

Serves only one cocktail? Am I reading this wrong?

    • Nathan Longley says

You can move the slider to have amounts change for how many you want to make! I think you are right though that this makes 2, not one, otherwise that would be like a 24 ounce drink. Thanks for noticing! I updated it to 2.

  5. Susan says

    What kind of rum?

    • Nathan Longley says

We used a white rum for this.
